►By the end of 2005, Romaero SA Bucharest will complete a US $ 7 Mil
investment on its new Lockheed Martin Hercules C-130 maintenance and repair
center located at Bucharest Baneasa – BBU Click Here
►Aerostar Bacau completed base maintenance work and installation of a new
Ground Proximity Warning System (GPWS) on a couple of Boeing 737-300 belonging
to FlyGlobeSpan Click Here This is the
first repair order received by Aerostar Maintenance International London UK, a
joint venture created by Aviation Group Int'L Ltd. UK and Romanian based
Aerostar Bacau SA. Aerostar Bacau holds base and line maintenance JAR-145
certification for BAe, ATP, Saab 340, B737-100/200/300/400/500 type aircraft Click Here

►An official Lockheed Martin delegation took an inspection-tour of
Romaero’s facilities at Bucharest Baneasa International – BBU. Lockheed Martin
intends to deploy and develop a regional Hercules C-130 maintenance and repairs
center on the site.
►As a subcontractor for Societe Anonyme Belge de Constructions
Aeronautiques SABCA, Romaero produced and delivered sets of components for
nineteen Airbus-380 aircraft to date.

►Among all other contributors to the Airbus 380 project, Romaero
representatives participated at the 2005 World Aerospace Conference in Touluse
France. The Romanian delegation has learned that Romaero will further receive
A-380 Click Here component-orders
at a pace of four monthly sets. To date Aibus received 127 orders for the
passenger configured A380 and 27 orders for its cargo variant. On the occasion
Romaero expressed its availability for future work-contract on the A 400M
military project.
►Aerostar SA Bacau received a US $40 Mil contract from Indian Air Force to
manufacture and deliver MiG 21 avionics upgrade-components and testing

►US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) concluded its periodical audit
at Romaero extending its certification for maintenance, repairs and alteration
to US registered aircraft. As a recognition of its work-quality Romaero may be
granted soon a broader FAA certification. Romaero also holds EASA certification
(European Aviation Safety Agency)

►AVAS a Government Agency announced its intention to sell a minority
leftover holding in Aerostar Bacau .
►IAR Brasov budgeted a 34% lower (1.6 Mil Euro) profit for 2005
comparative with a 2.4 Mil Euro gain posted in 2004. The situation is due in
part to the local currency appreciation against Euro and US Dollar. Company’s
turnaround is likely to tip the scale at about 40.5 mil Euro this year or 72%
than the year before with firm production orders until 2009. IAR is scheduled
to deliver the first modernized Puma 330 Helicopter to UAE’s Air Force later

►Romanian Air Force is installing Magic 2, short-medium heat seeking
missiles on its fleet of MiG 21 Lancer. The French designed Matra Magic 2 R550
is a heat-seeking missile is in the same class as later models of the American

►Environmental Tectonics Corporation (Amex: ETC), announced the sale of a
GAT-II (R) General Aviation Trainer to C.N. ROMTEHNICA S.A., Bucharest,
Romania. The GAT-II (R) features a state-of-the-art instrumentation navigation
training system and motion base capable of providing three-axis motion cues
resulting from pilot input (roll, pitch, and yaw). The impressive real world
visual display offers a photo-realistic terrain database and selectable

►Romanian Air Force is contracting out air-cargo capacities on its fleet
of Hercules C-130 Click Here to the
Hungarian Minister of Defense on flights between Budapest and Kabul,
Afghanistan.
►To meet NATO and other military assumed obligations in regard to
confidentiality of related naval and air traffic activities throughout its
borders, Romanian Defense Minister announced its intention to set several
military customs zones.
►A Romanian Air Force MiG 21 Lancer Click Here operating
out of Fetesti 86 Air Base, crashed near Insuratei, Braila County during a
routine mission. According to military sources the pilot catapulted safely
before impact.

►The existent RAF base 86 Fetesti will turn soon into a Romanian – US
joint air base. On site facilities are to be leased by US Air Force for ten
years with provisions for extension after that.
►Romanian Defense Minister announced that an International open bid - for
the selection and acquisition of a new multi-role aircraft - is scheduled for
2006
►A NATO joint military exercise will take place in Dobrogea region in the
second part of May. Several USAF C-5 Galaxy were spotted at Constanta Mihail
